Architectural Design
Business in front, party in the back? This design for a new back porch for a historic Chicago bungalow salvages and reuses the original windows and transoms while opening up a new outdoor deck area that spills out into the backyard—a space to hang out while grilling and gardening. The interior features a custom birch cabinet. By reorganizing and amplifying the familiar architectural characteristics of the traditional bungalow, new possibilities for backyard social life emerge.
