The Hugging Chuppah is a wedding canopy-in-the-round. While a traditional chuppah usually has four sides and four posts holding up its ceiling, this chuppah is circumscribed with a single, curving embrace and a multitude of supportive columns, symbolizing the couple's vast and united community of friends and family. The circular counter that surrounds the chuppah is inspired by the Sephardic custom in which the wedding couple is wrapped together within a single tallit. The canopy overhead consists of two half-ellipses, each a different tint of purple, that come together in union to make a complete shape.
